What events make up your morning routine? Take a minute to think about the first few things you do every morning and write them down on a sheet of paper.

Now, ask yourself if your morning consists of events that help you to have the best day possible. If you get up, sit in front of the computer and play solitaire for 30 minutes or skip out on a nutritious breakfast you may want to reevaluate your morning routine.You may be wondering why I’m asking about your morning rituals…

Try adjusting your diet, exercise routine, or throw in some meditation time. You will be surprised at how awesome you feel when you take care of yourself.

  • I've worked with excellent trainers before, so I know when somebody knows her stuff. Meryl had a plan from day one, and is relentless in helping me implement it. She's also a fierce advocate for me on days when I'm not feeling able to give my best. I've a long way to go before I get to the "destination", but I have no doubt about Meryl's ability to help me get there. Training sessions are fun, varied, and tough in exactly the way they should be. I've made tangible gains in two months and feel better than I have in years.

  • Working with meryl has been a joy! I am by no means an athlete or a health nut. I'd sit forever and live off donuts if i could (I probably have at times). I was waaaay off the fitness wagon when I started with meryl but she has gotten me on track! It's actually fun to work out now ( close to fun as it will ever be for a person who loves to lounge as much as I do). I'm on my second leg of training and I have had amazing results in body fat percentage reduction, weight loss and overall fitness in just 2 months. I'm now motivated to keep my fitness goals going and her training has been instrumental in getting me to this place. She's also fantastic at working with people with injuries. Highly recommended!

The person who eats a healthy breakfast and goes on a short walk or lifts weights in the morning will have much more energy and achieve more throughout the day. The person who wakes up and surfs the Internet will most likely waste 30 minutes on social media websites – I’m just saying.

Social media is entrenched in our lives and there’s no reason you shouldn’t be using it, but if you’re not careful it can take away from your productivity. After a routine morning check-in on a social media site, don’t linger for too long. I recommend picking three days of the week to do a social media sweep at a specific time – Don’t let it take longer than 10 minutes! Your morning should be all about YOU. Use it to prep your mind and body for the day ahead.

By nourishing yourself you will engender happiness, health and an individual who is capable of nourishing others. If you take care of yourself, you will be better able to take care of your friends, family and the people you care about.

If you are free of disease, strong mentally and physically and are happy with yourself, you will have more energy to spend on others because you won’t be busy trying to “fix” yourself. You’ll also be in a good mood more often!

Remember, you’re the one who decides to make a change. Make changes that will benefit you and your life!!
